FORECK.INFO Website Redesign & SEO Modernization Case Study

FORECK.INFO Website Redesign & SEO Modernization Case Study

FORECK.INFO is a large bilingual portal about financial markets, Forex, cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, and investment tools. The project has existed since 2009, has gone through three major global updates, and has changed its structure, design, technical foundation, and approach to content. The latest large-scale update was completed at the end of 2025.

By the time the client contacted us, the website already had a large archive of materials — more than 200,000 articles — as well as old URLs, external links, indexed pages, outdated sections, and two language versions: English and Russian. Therefore, the task was not just to redesign the website, but to carefully modernize the project without a major loss of SEO potential, which is almost unavoidable for such a large volume of content.

About the Client

FORECK.INFO is a financial media project for traders, investors, and users who follow Forex, Crypto, Stock Market, Commodities, and other market sectors.

The website publishes analytical materials, forecasts, broker reviews, crypto exchange reviews, crypto wallet reviews, market news, and content about popular assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, Gold, Oil, and other instruments.

Main Task

The client needed to update the portal, preserve the accumulated SEO value, improve the structure, speed up the website, and make it convenient for the constant publication of a large number of materials. At the same time, it was important not to move into expensive custom development from scratch.

The optimal solution was to update the project to the latest version of Joomla. This allowed us to preserve flexible content management, reduce development costs, and simplify further website maintenance.

Main project tasks:

  • update the design and UX without breaking the familiar website logic;
  • preserve SEO positions and old landing pages;
  • restore lost or outdated links;
  • make the structure clearer and more logical;
  • configure correct operation of the English and Russian versions;
  • update the website to the latest version of Joomla;
  • develop rating sections for Forex brokers, crypto exchanges, and crypto wallets;
  • speed up page loading;
  • simplify the work of editors with content;
  • reduce the development budget by using a ready-made CMS and artificial intelligence tools.

Project Challenges

The main challenge was the age and scale of the website. Since 2009, the project had accumulated many technical, content-related, and SEO issues.

After previous updates, some pages changed their addresses, some sections were deleted or moved, and some external links led to non-existent pages. This created the risk of losing link equity, indexing errors, and reduced visibility in search engines.

Among the main problems were:

  • a large number of old URLs;
  • loss of some links after structural changes;
  • broken internal and external links;
  • outdated categories;
  • duplicate pages in different language versions;
  • uneven indexing of Russian and English content;
  • old materials without correct meta tags;
  • different article formatting logic from different years;
  • outdated images and heavy media files;
  • overloaded navigation;
  • low loading speed on some pages;
  • difficulties with transferring and updating a large archive of content.

We were not working with a new website, but with a large historical project where any change could affect traffic, indexing, and old rankings.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Work

Due to the large amount of data, we actively used artificial intelligence tools during the analysis, sorting, and structure preparation stages. This helped us process old pages, URL lists, categories, external links, metadata, and large content arrays much faster.

AI did not replace the manual work of specialists, but it significantly accelerated routine processes: finding duplicates, grouping materials, initial page clustering, analyzing the old structure, and preparing redirect recommendations.

With the help of AI, we accelerated:

  • analysis of old URLs and their distribution across new sections;
  • search for duplicate or outdated materials;
  • preparation of the category structure;
  • comparison of English and Russian page versions;
  • processing large lists of external and internal links;
  • preparation of meta tag templates;
  • grouping materials into SEO clusters;
  • preparation of technical redirect lists.

As a result, we significantly reduced the time needed for the preparation stage and lowered the client’s budget. Without AI, manual processing of such a large amount of information would have taken much more time and required more specialists.

Analysis and Preparation

Before the update, we audited the structure, categories, old URLs, indexing, internal linking, metadata, loading speed, mobile version, and user behavior.

We separately analyzed the history of the project: which pages retained value, which pages lost traffic, which ones needed to be merged, and which ones needed to be redirected.

We created a map of old and new URLs, checked broken links, identified pages with external backlinks, and prepared a redirect system. This helped reduce the risk of losing SEO positions after the update.

Website Structure Work

The old website structure was large and sometimes confusing. A user could land in an outdated section, follow an old link, or open a page that no longer matched the new project logic.

We reworked the structure so that the main areas were clearly separated:

We reworked the structure so that the main areas were clearly separated:

  • Forex;
  • Stock Market;
  • Commodities;
  • Crypto;
  • Blockchain;
  • Bitcoin;
  • Altcoins;
  • Memecoins;
  • Insights;
  • Live Chart;
  • Forex Brokers;
  • Crypto Exchanges;
  • Crypto Wallets.

For each category, we planned the nesting logic, URL structure, metadata template, and internal linking. Important old pages were not removed without analysis: redirects, transfers to new categories, or merging with more relevant materials were configured for them.

Bilingual Website Version

FORECK.INFO works in two languages — English and Russian. For this, we separately worked through URLs, language switchers, hreflang, metadata, and navigation.

Main tasks for the two languages:

  • separate the English and Russian versions without duplicates;
  • configure correct language URLs;
  • write unique Title and Description tags for each version;
  • configure hreflang;
  • connect alternative page versions with each other;
  • preserve SEO value of old Russian-language and English-language materials;
  • make language switching clear for users.

This was important because some old materials existed only in one language, some had incomplete translations, and some pages had received different addresses over the years of updates.

CMS Selection and Client Budget Savings

The website runs on the latest version of Joomla. For the client, this was an important decision: the project is large, old, and constantly developing, but the client did not want to spend a huge budget on a custom CMS.

We kept the project on a reliable modern engine that is regularly updated, supports extensions, multilingual functionality, SEO settings, and convenient work with a large amount of content.

This approach reduced development and future maintenance costs. Joomla updates are free, and the editorial team can independently add articles, categories, images, meta tags, and new pages.

Why Joomla was chosen:

  • there was no need for expensive custom development from scratch;
  • the engine is suitable for large information portals;
  • it provides convenient work with many categories and materials;
  • it supports a bilingual website structure;
  • SEO parameters can be flexibly configured for pages;
  • the system is regularly updated without purchasing a new license;
  • editors can manage content without involving a developer;
  • the client saves money on support and scaling of the project.

UX/UI Design

The design was updated with the financial portal theme in mind: the interface became more modern, lighter, and easier to read, while still maintaining the project’s business-focused character.

We reworked:

  • the homepage;
  • article cards;
  • category pages;
  • internal article pages;
  • popular publication blocks;
  • navigation;
  • the mobile menu;
  • live chart blocks;
  • review and rating pages.

Users can now see key materials faster, navigate to the right section, and continue reading related articles. Light and dark theme support was also added.

Content Work

Over the years, the website accumulated a large number of articles, forecasts, reviews, and analytical materials. Some of the content was formatted according to old rules, had weak descriptions, or had an incorrect structure.

We conducted a content revision:

  • identified valuable materials with traffic;
  • found pages with lost rankings;
  • updated the article structure;
  • configured templates for new publications;
  • improved headings and meta descriptions;
  • added internal links;
  • removed unnecessary duplicates;
  • updated outdated categories;
  • prepared convenient templates for editors.

After that, it became easier for the editorial team to publish new materials, while older articles received a clearer structure and better connection within the website.

Ratings of Brokers, Crypto Exchanges, and Crypto Wallets

Commercially important rating sections were also improved separately: Forex brokers, cryptocurrency exchanges, and crypto wallets. These pages help users compare financial services and became additional SEO entry points.

As part of the project, we improved the following sections:

  • Best Forex Brokers — rating and comparison of Forex brokers;
  • Best Crypto Exchanges — rating of cryptocurrency exchanges;
  • Best Crypto Wallets — rating and reviews of crypto wallets.

Each section is built as a comparison page. Users can see key parameters: company name, year founded, Online status, number of votes, trading conditions, supported coins, country or jurisdiction, and can also go to a detailed review.

The Forex broker rating displays votes, year founded, Online status, minimum deposit, EUR/USD spreads, and regulator data. The crypto exchange rating shows the number of votes, year founded, Online status, supported coins, and country. For crypto wallets, important parameters include security, supported assets, interface usability, platform type, mobile app availability, Web3 functions, and reviews.

What was implemented:

  • company and service cards with main parameters;
  • display of user vote counts;
  • Online status for current rating participants;
  • links to detailed reviews;
  • comparison by key characteristics;
  • SEO structure for commercial and informational queries;
  • text blocks explaining selection criteria;
  • rating calculation methodology;
  • internal linking between ratings, reviews, and articles.

Work with Lost Links

One of the key problems was lost links after previous structural changes. Over the years, different resources linked to FORECK.INFO, but some links pointed to old addresses.

If such pages are deleted without redirects, the website loses part of its link equity. That is why we worked through this block separately.

What was done:

  • collected a list of old URLs;
  • checked pages with external backlinks;
  • found 404 errors;
  • configured 301 redirects;
  • restored important landing pages;
  • merged duplicate materials;
  • fixed internal links;
  • updated the sitemap;
  • checked indexing after migration.

This allowed us to preserve a large part of the accumulated SEO potential and reduce the drop after the structure update.

Technical Optimization

After several updates, the project still had outdated elements, unnecessary code, heavy images, old templates, and pages with different display logic.

We performed technical optimization:

  • increased page loading speed;
  • optimized images;
  • implemented lazy loading;
  • fixed responsive layout errors;
  • improved the mobile version;
  • configured correct sitemap generation;
  • updated robots.txt;
  • fixed canonical tags;
  • removed duplicates;
  • configured article schema markup;
  • optimized internal linking;
  • improved the H1–H3 heading structure;
  • updated the project to the current Joomla version;
  • checked compatibility of the template, extensions, and multilingual structure.

After optimization, the average loading speed of key pages improved by approximately 35–40%, and the mobile version became more stable. The Joomla update also improved project security and simplified further maintenance.

SEO Optimization

SEO was one of the main areas of work. The website already had history, old rankings, and accumulated authority, so it was important not only to promote the project further, but also to preserve what had been built since 2009.

The following work was completed:

  • audit of the old structure;
  • indexing check;
  • semantic research for Forex, Crypto, Stocks, and Commodities;
  • keyword clustering;
  • meta tag configuration;
  • category optimization;
  • work with language versions;
  • hreflang configuration;
  • duplicate removal;
  • redirect setup;
  • internal linking update;
  • preparation of pages for Google Discover;
  • snippet improvement;
  • optimization of articles for informational queries;
  • SEO improvement of rating pages for Forex brokers, crypto exchanges, and crypto wallets.

Special attention was paid to queries related to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Forex forecast, Gold price, Oil price, Forex brokers, Crypto exchanges, Crypto wallet reviews, and other competitive areas.

Responsive Version

Most of the audience of financial portals reads materials from mobile devices, so the mobile version was one of the key areas of the update.

We reworked:

  • the mobile menu;
  • article display;
  • news cards;
  • popular publication blocks;
  • the language switcher;
  • live chart elements;
  • advertising and information blocks;
  • tables and lists inside articles;
  • rating cards for brokers, exchanges, and crypto wallets.

After the update, it became easier for users to read analytics, move between sections, and compare financial services.

Project Results

After the 2025 update, the website received a modern technical foundation, a clearer structure, and improved SEO architecture.

Approximate results after launch:

  • more than 1,200 old URLs restored through redirects;
  • around 380 broken internal links fixed;
  • more than 900 pages optimized;
  • the website was moved to the current Joomla version;
  • future client costs for support and development were reduced;
  • the preparation budget was reduced by using AI tools;
  • the ability to manage content independently without constant developer involvement was preserved;
  • rating sections for Forex brokers, crypto exchanges, and crypto wallets were improved;
  • comparison cards with votes, Online status, service parameters, and links to detailed reviews were implemented;
  • loading speed of key pages increased by approximately 38%;
  • bounce rate decreased by 19%;
  • page depth increased from 1.8 to 2.9 pages;
  • average time on site increased by 42%;
  • mobile traffic grew by 31%;
  • the number of indexing errors decreased by 57%;
  • organic traffic began to grow within 2–3 months after the update;
  • the English and Russian versions received a clearer SEO structure.

Conclusion

FORECK.INFO is a large financial portal with a history dating back to 2009, so the project required not a simple redesign, but comprehensive modernization: structure, SEO, technical part, content, language versions, and rating sections.

The main task was to update the website while preserving accumulated SEO value, old links, indexed pages, and the regular audience.

Using the latest version of Joomla and AI tools helped reduce the client’s budget: we did not develop a custom CMS from scratch and processed a large amount of data on structure, links, categories, and content much faster.

The latest global update in 2025 allowed FORECK.INFO to become a more modern, faster, and more convenient financial media platform while preserving as much of the value accumulated over many years of work — since far back in 2009 — as possible.
